Dear Class,

How's your Moon Festival? Did you have any mooncake or pomelo? Or you had a good time barbecuing with your whole family? Were you able to see the moon in the sky? As the typhoon approaches, please take some preventative measures beforehand. Let's cross our fingers and hope it won't cause too much damage to this fragile island this time.

In today's class, we are going to learn "the second conditional" and talk about "What would you do with one million dollars". The following questions will be discussed in class. Think about what you can share with your classmates in English beforehand.

1. Do you believe in “luck”? Do you believe in “lucky charm” or “lucky number”? Why or why not?

2. Have you ever bought any lottery tickets? Where can you buy a lottery ticket in Taiwan?

3. What would you do if you won the lottery (hit the jackpot)?
- pay off your debts
- give money or buy gifts to your parents or family member
- lend some money to your friends or relatives
- buy a house
- travel abroad
- donate some money to charity
- others
